It's time we bring back classic Indian dance arts. Levi Ackerman is making sure it stays alive by giving the best performance. This cover art is inspired by the beautiful Bollywood queen Rekha, who plays the role of Umrao Jaan, a famous fictional character from the Urdu novel written by Mirza Hadi Ruswa.
Umrao Jaan is a stage name given to Amiran, a young girl who was kidnapped to be left in a kotha, a dwelling for trained courtesans. My take on Levi in this role is based on some relatable facts about his childhood background and upbringing. The romance theme is based off of Eruri, a romantic shipping of Levi Ackerman and Erwin Smith, presenting the couple in the Urdu novel. I dreamed of seeing Levi mastering the kathak dance, with its beautiful hand movements, spins, and rhythmic foot tapping. The similarity between the couples' love stories is the eventful complications, that leave them in despair.
